CALIDA RAWLES

This zine was created to spotlight artist Calida Rawles and her work, aiming to introduce her unique voice and creative vision to a wider audience. The purpose was to craft an engaging, accessible mini-publication that highlights her art and story in a visually compelling way.

MY ROLES

I was responsible for the entire design of the zine, including researching the artist and her work to ensure the publication reflected her visual identity and artistic voice. I handled the layout, typography, and overall aesthetic to create a cohesive and engaging piece. Additionally, I prepared the zine for print, managed the printing process, and distributed the final product.

MY APPROACH

I researched Calida Rawles’s work to create a design that reflects her artistic style and voice. The color palette, typography, and layout were chosen to highlight her art while maintaining a clean, engaging flow. The pastel colors were chosen in order to both compliment her work and set the tone of the work presented to be energized. The goal was to create a visually cohesive zine that connects readers to her work in a personal and accessible way.
